LOCAL CDL LIVE HAUL DRIVER
Pay
- Base Pay: $26.35 per hour
- Shift Premium: + $2.00 per hour
Schedule
- Hours: 12:00 AM - 10:00 AM
- Work Days: Sunday - Wednesday
- Additional: Occasional Fridays
Job Description
This position is responsible for the operation of a commercial vehicle and hauling chickens to the plant while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Applicants will be considered for the Live Haul Driver position only.
Tasks
- Operate a commercial vehicle to haul live birds from grower farms to the processing plant
- Transport trailers loaded with empty cages to poultry farms
- Ensure cages are filled and stacked by the catch crew before transport
- Haul loaded trailers back to the processing plant
- Drop trailers on scales or at the live haul shed
- Secure loads before transport by binding and unbinding cages as needed
- Follow all company policies and procedures
- Comply with all federal, state, and local regulations for safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle
- Follow all DOT rules and regulations
- Adhere to Tyson Foods policies, including animal welfare and biosecurity guidelines
- Complete any additional tasks assigned by management

Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age
- Must have at least one year of driving experience
- Must possess a valid Class A CDL
- Must pass a background check prior to placement
- Must have a clear and satisfactory CDL record
- Must meet all Tyson and DOT driving specifications
- Must be willing to work flexible hours and complete required log books
- Must pass a DOT drug test and physical and be subject to random testing
- Urine and Hair Follice Test
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs occasionally
- Must be willing to work in and be exposed to outside temperatures and environments
- Must be willing to grasp, grip, twist, pull, bend, and stoop occasionally
