This is a driver position responsible for the transport and delivery of freight on time in a professional manner by driving diesel-powered tractor/trailer combinations, while complying with Department of Transportation rules and regulations, maintaining a safe work environment, and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.These positions are responsible for moving trailers to the appropriate areas. pick up loaded trailers and drop at appropriate area or docks; return loaded trailers to the garage area when needed; take empty trailers to the staging area; ensure the refrigeration unit on trailer is functioning properly by checking units every two hours, 24 hours per day; delivering product to the company store when needed. Positions require the ability to push/pull/carry/lift 50+ pounds. Must be able to work in hot/cold or inclement weather environments, use of hands and arms above shoulder level and be able stand, climb and walk 10-12+ hours a day. Must be able to climb up and down ladders to access the back of trailers. Must be able to pull a 3/4 inch hose to the front of 53 foot trailers. Position will be for 2nd shift (nights).
This facility may run 7 days a week, Sunday-Saturday.
Must have and maintain Commercial Driver's License.
Must be able to pass both urine and hair follicle drug tests.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must have at least 1 year CDL driving experience.
Must have previous experience driving tractor/trailer.
Must have a good driving record.
Must pass new DOT physical
Must be able to wash out trailers.
Must be able to read, write and have a good basic knowledge of math.
Bending, pulling, twisting, turning, and good hand/eye/foot coordination is required.
Must be able to understand and agree to follow Safety Rules (ie. Lockout/Tagout).
Must be able to comply with OSHA standards
