Rehire Policy:Eligible for Rehire: Yes Three-Time Rule: Ineligible for rehire if employed at Tyson three or more separate times. Waiting Period: 180 days from last separation date


Job Summary
The Yard Truck Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently moving trailers and tankers within the plant yard, staging areas, and between designated internal sites to support renderin and loadout operations. This role is essential in maintaining flow and coordination across shifts, ensuring timely movement of materials and alignment with safety, environmental, and operational standards.

This role is not remote and operates at a Tyson rendering facility, where strong odors may be present. Trucks include both manual and automatic transmission units. Bonus opportunities may be available for safety and performance metrics. Pay Range: - , General Benefits:

Essential Duties & Responsibilties:
Safely operate yard trucks (spotter trucks, hostlers, or tractors) to shuttle trailers between docks, storage areas, and designated staging zones within the plant premises.
Perform accurate trailer placement based on staging priorities and loading/unloading schedules.
Communicate proactively with rendering and transportation teams to ensure the correct trailers are placed and retrieved as needed.
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of equipment; report mechanical or safety issues immediately.
Maintain yard and dock awareness to prevent congestion and ensure efficient traffic flow.
Secure trailers and confirm proper chocking before drop-offs and pickups.
Keep accurate records/logs of trailer moves and trailer numbers as assigned throughout the shift.
Support biosecurity and environmental protocols, including spill response readiness and trailer containment procedures.
Operate in varying environmental conditions (e.g., hot, cold, wet, or odor-intensive areas).
Assist with yard organization and may occasionally support product loadout or other duties as directed by management.
Maintain a clean and organized cab and equipment at all times

Minimum Qualifications:
Must pass both urine and hair follcile drug tests.
Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
Minimum of 5 years of verifiable truck driving experience.
Familiarity with DOT regulations including Hours of Service (HOS), inspections, and log maintenance.
Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. and climb ladders as needed for equipment inspections.
Must be willing to work nights, weekends, and holidays if business needs demand.
Able to communicate effectively with dispatch, plant personnel, and external stakeholders.
Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and prioritize safety.
Must be able to work in rendering environments with strong odors and biological materials.
Willingness to undergo background and drug screening in accordance with Tyson policy.
