Pay- 30.75/hr
Days- Monday-Friday
Hours: Start 5am- (10-12 hour shift)
however, shift times, hours, weekends, and holidays may fluctuate based on production needs. All holidays are expected if it falls on a scheduled work day.

JOB SUMMARY:
TheEgg Truck CDL Driver DF01 (Hatchery Driver)is responsible for the safe operation of commercial motor vehicles while transporting hatching eggs, empty racks, and related equipment between contract grower farms and the hatchery. This position plays a critical role in hatchery production by ensuring eggs are collected, handled, transported, and delivered in a safe and timely manner while maintaining required temperature controls and inventory levels. The Hatchery Driver must be willing to load, unload, secure, and transport egg racks; monitor trailer and egg room temperatures; maintain accurate transportation documentation; and perform routine cleaning and inspection of assigned equipment. Drivers may also assist with chick deliveries and operate a Moffett (3-wheeled forklift) as needed.

Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include operating commercial vehicles, transporting hatching eggs, monitoring environmental conditions, maintaining egg inventories and rack availability, supporting biosecurity requirements, and ensuring all deliveries and pickups are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Operate commercial vehicles safely and responsibly while transporting hatching eggs, empty racks, and related equipment between farms and hatchery locations.
  • Pick up and deliver eggs in a timely manner while protecting egg quality and minimizing product damage.
  • Ensure proper handling, loading, securing, transporting, and unloading of egg racks.
  • Monitor trailer and egg room temperatures to ensure proper environmental conditions are maintained during transportation and storage.
  • Coordinate routes, pickups, and deliveries with management and egg room attendants.
  • Maintain farm egg room inventories at acceptable levels and provide empty racks as needed.
  • Transport empty racks to contract grower farms and retrieve full racks of eggs for return to the hatchery.
  • Unbind, secure, and manage egg racks and transportation equipment during deliveries and pickups.
  • Operate a Moffett (3-wheeled forklift) and assist with chick deliveries when required.
  • Maintain truck tractors, trailers, and transportation equipment in clean and sanitary condition.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and promptly report maintenance or operational concerns.
  • Accurately complete driver's logs, DOT documentation, inspection reports, inventory records, and other required paperwork.
  • Adhere to all hatchery biosecurity, animal welfare, sanitation, and food safety requirements.
  • Drive on rural roads and operate safely in varying weather and environmental conditions.
  • Perform other transportation, hatchery, or production-related duties as assigned by management.
Physical Requirements: Must be willing and able to perform the following:
  • Must be willing and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be willing and able to sit, stand, and operate equipment for extended periods up to12hours.
  • Must be willing and able to lift and carry up to40 lbs.or more as required.
  • Must be willing and able to push and pull racks loaded with eggs and hatchery materials.
  • Must be willing and able to repeatedly climb in and out of trucks, trailers, and work areas throughout the shift.
  • Must be willing and able to bend, reach, twist, stoop, grasp, grip, pull, and perform repetitive movements as required.
  • Must be willing and able to work outdoors in conditions includinghot, cold, humid, wet, dry, dusty, and noisy environments.
  • Must be willing and able to work inside poultry houses and around live poultry and hatchery-related materials.
  • Must be willing and able to operate commercial vehicles and powered industrial equipment safely.
  • Must be willing and able to wear required personal protective equipment.
  • Must follow all Tyson biosecurity policies and procedures, including facility-specific requirements related to sanitation, animal contact, visitor restrictions, and movement between locations.
  • Must not own, raise, or care for poultry, waterfowl, or other avian species and must comply with all Tyson Foods biosecurity requirements intended to protect flock health and prevent disease transmission.

External Education and Experience:
Minimum: Must be at least21 years of age; possess a validClass A CDLissued by the state of residence; have at leastone year of verifiable driving experience(or 9 months within the last 12 months); maintain a satisfactory driving record and meet all Tyson Foods and DOT driver qualification requirements; must pass a DOT physical, drug screening Urine and Hair Follicle test , background check, and comply with random testing requirements; must be able to complete required paperwork and transportation records accurately; must be willing to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays as needed.
Preferred: Previous egg pickup, hatchery transportation, agricultural transportation, commercial driving, Moffett/forklift operation, chick delivery, or rural road driving experience.

Internal Requirements:
  • Must be out of the probationary period at the time of application unless no other qualified candidates.
  • Must not have declined a bid within the last six (6) months.
  • Must be under4.5attendance points at the time of application.
  • No written warnings in the past6months.
  • No suspensions on record for the last6months.
  • Must meet all CDL, DOT, education, experience, certification, and job-related qualifications required for the position.
